Fluffy Old Fashion Pancakes
Or is it really the bacon that tempts you?
Theres nothing really like waking up late on Sunday and eat some good ol’pancakes and the smell of crisping bacon when you get out of your room.
Its quiet and you slept well, theres bacon, pancakes and the love of your life, then you know you are blessed.
This is a simple recipe I’ve kept and made countless times because I like how light and fluffy the texture of the pancake is. There is no downtime which means that you can make it and cook it immediately. Now I’m not one that loves those thematic pancakes with different colours and flavours. I just like them normal and beautiful brown.
Old fashion Pancakes (Makes 9 to 12)
190g All Purpose Flour
3.5 Teaspoon Baking powder
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon Sugar
300ml Milk (I used soy milk)
3 Tablespoon Butter, melted
0.5 Teaspoon Cinnamon powder
In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and sugar.
Make a well in the centre and pour in milk, egg and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
You may now start having fun!!
Now you can add Cinnamon if you want, I usually add a little because I love the smell of Cinnamon in the morning!
Now I know this pancake doesn’t look like a commercial pancake, but it doesn’t mean the recipe ain’t good. To get an even nice coat (instead of the one i have in the picture) the trick is really to control your fire and have patience!!
The trick is to heat the pan till its hot and switch the fire to low. Add the batter and wait for about 30 sec before you turn the heat up again.
I’m not sure if this blog entry is about bacon or pancakes, I just love bacon.
The sight, the smell, the taste in your mouth, the sound of it sizzling in the pan!!
So I have this strange addiction for Macdonald’s Maple Syrup which is not even real maple syrup I might add. But I have this childhood addiction with it that hasn’t left me since. So yes, I steal a couple more extra packets of syrups when I eat at macdonalds!! haha
What are you cooking after reading this blog entry? Is it the fluffy pancakes or has this blog send you craving for bacon?
Man, I want some bacon now.
