The view of Telaga Warna
Our guide brought us up a small hill after a short introduction about Dieng Plateau and how it formed in a tiny theatre. We climbed up a potato plantation to a secret view point where you could see the lake and the surrounding hills, it was magnificent. Telaga Warna means Colorful Lakes, the lakes change colour over the months due to the algae in the water and sulphur as well i guess, its not safe for swimming or at least i’ve not seen anyone dip in.
It is believed that the lake changes colour according to the emotions and feelings of the villages living in Dieng Plateau, like some sort of mood ring except its a HUGE LAKE. The colours range from turquoise blue, red, black and brown.
Mandatory scenic shot!
