How much you like a certain place or country is dependent on what you experience during your time there. The places you stay in, the people who touched your life and those moments you can’t capture with a camera.
If you are ever planning to visit Yogyakarta I would definitely recommend you to stay at ALAMANDA B&B. Its located just on the outskirts of the city and its a really great balance of a village life but with all the comforts we are used to. When we arrived, Frans upgraded us to one of the superior bungalows located on the paddy fields. From then on we never had to worry about finding food to eat or travelling to anywhere. Even when we wanted to explore the village, Frans got his staff to accompany us and explain to us about village life, culture and to make sure we never get lost.
Our host, Frans is AMAZING, he’s always up before anyone else and before we sleep he’s greets us good night! Does he ever sleep??? We don’t know. But he is dedicated about his little B&B and so are his staff who are all young, eager and polite people eager to explore Yogyakarta with you, share their knowledge with you.
I never expected to have so much fun here and have so little to worry about. Here they made sure we were always happy, our request and problems always met and answered. I can’t say a bad thing about their service, its really personalized.
The paddy fields just at my doorstep, its amazing how at night the fireflies just dance around the fields, its just an amazing sight, like magic and fairies.

One of our rooms for the night, comes with beautiful indonesian furnishing and open air bath room. I love it. 
During our time at Alamanda B&B they planned all our trips with really mounts up to about $35SGD a day (for the whole day) The list of activities we did :
– Dieng Plateau (Telaga Warna, Plateau, Sikidang Crater, Hindu Temples)
– Borobudur (Sunrise tour)
– Batik Painting workshop
– City tour
– Cave Tubing
It’s really just amazing!

Hi! Have booked to stay at this home stay 🙂 Would like to find out if it took long to get a confirmation email from Frans to may for the deposit. We booked about a week ago.
Hi Valerie, I booked with booking.com so it was confirmed right away. Frans is generally a nice guy albeit sarcastic sometimes, drop him an email nicely to ask if he’s received your deposit and would love to hear a confirmation from him 🙂
I did email him regarding transfers from the airport and he did reply me a few days later.
